By claiming your listing on Food Safety Select you'll instantly be given a chance to stand out from the rest, by gaining access to your own business membership account. This includes a free suite of tools to be able to showcase your business in our online directory. To see all the benefits you get from claiming your listing, check out our Business Membership Plan page.
It's also important to know that by claiming your business listing, your business will immediately have increased search priority over other businesses that haven't claimed their listing. Our directory also automatically generates metadata for your business, which facilitates Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Therefore, claiming your listing and keeping it up to date will enhance the visibility of your business when potential clients search for you on search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing.
Finally, claiming your listing ensures that you are notified of any client review BEFORE it gets published. This can be critical to ensure that in the event of receiving an unfavorable review, your business has a chance to mitigate any possible damage that may occur by dealing with the client directly with a view to resolution.
The most important thing you can do to boost your visibility is to get customer reviews. Having a positive rating can help you elevate your business in search results, especially as our site allows visitors to sort businesses by the number of ratings.
There are also a number of ways you can obtain more reviews, such as adding Food Safety Select referral links to your emails. You can also encourage reviews simply by asking your customers if they would leave a review on the Food Safety Select website and rate their experience.
At Food Safety Select, we promote honesty and integrity. We screen all reviews thoroughly and will not publish reviews that we deem inappropriate, offensive, or clearly false.
In order to ensure the integrity of our website, negative reviews are only able to be deleted by authorised Food Safety Select representatives. If a review cannot be authenticated (e.g. by way of a reference or receipt), it may be deleted. The best way to combat a negative review is to simply get more reviews to level out the average rating. You could do this by contacting new and past clients and requesting them to leave feedback and by doing this you will also gain an enhanced search ranking.

Another solution is to respond to each negative review, a benefit of Featured and Premium memberships. You may need to upgrade your membership if you require this functionality.

Lastly, you can always contact us if you have any concerns about the genuineness of a review. If your business receives a negative review, Food Safety Select can allow you 24 hours to deal with the matter privately. Of course, if an amicable resolution with the client can be made offline and the client agrees to contact us to have the review canceled, we will gladly delete it and it won't get published.
